Project Description
Joining MTR Elizabeth Line as an HRBP would be an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their generalist experience. That’s the way MSHR viewed the situation when asked to source candidates for this role.
MTR Elizabeth Line presents the opportunity to be involved in an exciting environment, focused on the future of rail travel in London and the chance to be stretched across the full gambit of HR Business Partnering activity. As is often the case, the term HR Business Partner is adopted for a range of roles and in sourcing candidates, MSHR took the brief carefully, to really understand what ‘good looks like’ in the client’s eyes. This role really did need a true HR Business Partner to work strategically with a client group whose people were absolutely crucial to business success. Having worked on recruitment assignments over many years with the HR Director Alison Bell who was recruiting for this role, MSHR already had a fair idea of the calibre and style of individual who would work well in her team and this helped in narrowing down the field. The bias of this role was IR – a scarce resource these days, but also the kind of candidate who would be able to live up to the leading edge practices of MTR Elizabeth Line, a difficult assignment in the rail sector.
MSHR were able to accurately interpret the brief and because of their expertise in the HR space (i.e. deep understanding of IR) were able to find the right person for MTR Elizabeth Line.
